"Dont be ripped off by floor tile companies and their fancy marketing methods".
Dear Visitor,
Thanks for dropping by. I am amazed at the prices the unsupecting public will pay for natural stone products. After all stone is virtually the same. You basically have 2 types of stone. Commercial grade (poor) and finest or best grade (good). Most of the larger tile shops are staffed by people who quite frankly knew nothing about stone until they started the job and training is non exsistant. This is a problem when trying to recoomend a suitable stone floor.
An Example of poor advice
I was recently called to a home to investigate "strange holes" appearing in certain areas acroos the stone floor that had been laid 3 months previous. The problem was a commercial grade travertine stone tile. Travertine is a naturally cavenous tile bwcomw for millions of years water has been moving through the moutasin and thru the stone. Whwn the tile is cut it has holes that are usually filled by a cement or resin. This client had a commercial grade wall tile sold as floor tile. The reason, quiite simply the tile tile shop either didn't knopw what was being sold or wanted to cut costs. The lady lucky got her money back.
"We are the biggest and cheapest"
We hear this over and over again. Everyone has the biggest company or so they say. The big tile companies who proclaim to be the biggest and cheapest are in fact usually the dearest. We know for a fact that the most famous tile shop sells some marble floor tiles at around £60.00 per sq mtr and that is the (Poor) grade although you wouldn't realise that. We offer the same type of tile but the (Best) grade for £35.00 sq mtr.
The biggies also have tiles from China and India and in my humble opinion I would stear well clear of these poor stones. You WONT BE HAPPY. The is a method in the madness of buying Itallian Marble, Portugese Limestone, Indian Slate and Sandstone, Chinese Onyx I mean it's each to thier own.
If you are on a budget and want a very cheap non performing stone then by all \means dip your toe in the water and buy these products but expect to have a floor that might crack, stain easily, and wear really fast. I am not saying we are the oracle and you should steer clear of the rest but we can provide and honest service for an honest price.
It is important for any company like ours to ask questions such as where will the tiles be placed in the home or business. How much foot traffic will be on them and over what lentgh of time. The answers will determine what type of recommendastions we would make.
The Customer is always right
You will make the ultimate decision after all it's your money. We just want you to be happy with your choice and make sure the performance of the surface lives up to your expectations. Believe it or not we have supplied and fitted floor tiles to homes where they only want them on the floor for 12 months or so, nice to have money I guess.
